Sephora Collection’s Desert Sunset Palette Review

Sephora 3

I’m super stoked for this palette by the Sephora Collection called Desert Sunset! After Christina introduced me to it, she also bought one for me and I am happy to say that this is my new favorite palette! It’s also the palette we are giving away in our Heat Wave Giveaway. Even though that giveaway just ended, doesn’t mean you can’t go to Sephora and buy it! And it’s on sale, so get it while it’s hot!

The color payoff of each color is great and I can see myself wearing all of the shadows. I love the soft texture and how easily my brushes can pick up product with one dab. What else is great about this palette is that you can create 4 different levels of looks! Each row is a set of shadows that you can use to get achieve different looks ranging from daytime to a night time smokey. As you can see the lightest, highlighting colors are the left side and the contouring colors are the right. The palette also comes with a blush and bronzer, which I’m not too fond of, but I could see myself using occasionally. So let’s get into the breakdown.

  • Beige is self explanatory. It’s a beige color that’s packed with shimmer; therefore, it’s a great highlighter color on the brow bone or on the inner corners of your eyes.
  • Apricot is a beautiful bronze color. I would brush this color in the middle of my lids to give my eyes more dimension and blend it in with Deep Burgundy.
  • Deep Burgundy is exactly as the name describes. Like most of the shadows in this palette, it has glitter. This color is definitely one of my favorites from this palette and it’s my go to color for fall.
  • Pale Pink is one of two matte shadows in this palette. In the package, it looks a like a true pale pink, but when I swatch it onto my skin it looks like Beige without the shimmer.
  • Wine is my second favorite color! This is a gorgeous maroon shadow perfect for defining the crease. I also love using it to blend in my eye liner on my bottom lash line because it creates a sultry smokey look.
  • Violet is a pretty purple with gorgeous gold glitters. I would use this shadow when I feel like I want an extra pop of color on my eyes.

  • White Gold is very reminiscent of Beige at first glance; however, when I swatch it on my skin it comes out to look more like White Shimmer. In White Gold there is a slight warmer tone though.
  • Bronze reminds me of Smog from Urban Decay! I love this shade to put all over my lids. It’s the perfect shade to give my eyes more dimension.
  • Khaki is a gun metal color with gold shimmer. It reminds me of N6, but with gold glitters. If I ever need a black shadow with a little more pizzazz, then this is the shadow.
  • White Shimmer is the color to use on the inner corner of your eyes! A little of this color goes a long way. I just add this to my inner corners to wake my eyes up.
  • Silver is essentially the darker silver of White Shimmer.
  • N6 is a matte black. It took me a couple swatches for the color to become more apparent, but it is still a great color to create that sexy smokey eye look.

  • Blush is a soft pink hue with slight shimmer. It is a lovely blush, but it took many swatches for it to show up on my skin. I would opt to use this blush as a shadow. I think it would pair nicely with the Dark Burgundy shadow.
  • Bronzer has shimmer and a great color payoff.
