The Bronzed Edition: Part 1

Bronzer is without a doubt my favorite makeup product. If I forget to wear bronzer, I start to feel a little insecure. Bronzer wakes my face up by giving it dimension and helping it look more alive rather than like a zombie. Plus  I love having a sun kissed glow, especially in the summer time! My current brozer is NYX’s Matte Bronzer in “Deep Tan”. As you can see, I have hit pan. I didn’t love, but I didn’t hate this bronzer. But since I used it to the pan, I decided to start my search for a new all-time favorite bronzer!

bronzer

My first stop was Benefit and Too Faced. I’ve been hearing around the block that people are raving about Too Faced’s bronzers, so I decided that was a good place to start. Another crowd favorite would be Benefit blushes and bronzers. After doing my research, I went to Sephora and purchased Too Faced’s “Sun Bunny” and Benefit’s “Dallas”, Here are my swatches and thoughts on both of these products:

Too Faced’s “Sun Bunny”

I have to say that this bronzer is impressing me so far. I love the texture and with one dab of my brush I can pick up a good amount of product. With one application I can do so much contouring. I also love that there are two levels of bronzer. I prefer use the darker shade for contouring and the lighter color on my cheeks as a blush. All in all, this bronzer is on the top of my list. An added bonus is that both of the shades has shimmer, which reflects sunlight allowing for the bronzer to really pop on your skin. I didn’t think I’d like the shimmer, but when the sun hits my cheeks I love how alive my skin looks.

Benefit’s “Dallas”

Dallas has more of a pink, rosy undertone to it when put side by side with “Sunny Bunny”. I love this color as well, but I actually prefer this as a blush color. Because of the pinkish, matte color, it gives the apple of my cheeks a natural flush. The product does take a couple of applications before the color starts to show on my tan skin, but for fairer skin tones this would look divine as a contouring product!

Stay tuned for part 2 of my Bronzed Edition to see what bronzers I will try out next! 🙂
