bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in “The Grand Finale”

Blue is the must-have color this season – and blue and gold, well that’s a can’t-live-without combo. After Jason Wu’s Fall 2011 runway show, I have been searching for the perfect eyeshadow pair and just recently came across Bare Escentuals bareMinerals READY™ Eyeshadow 2.0 in “The Grand Finale.” The two-color palette includes Standing O, a soft gold, paired with Climax, a bright sapphire. Because the gold is lighter than most this season, it creates a soft foundation for the sapphire that adds that bold pop. Bold eyes are the craze this season and this palette offers the perfect solution for wearing the latest hot colors in everyday situations (office, school, taking the dog for a stroll, anything!)

With the contrasting colors, the palette is perfect for day or night. Go light with the gold and dab a hint of sapphire for the office look and make it bold in the evening with an extreme coating of sapphire and just a light brush of the gold as a brow highlighter. The versatility of the colors is perfect for the makeup lover (like myself) that loves testing out the latest trends but doesn’t like to go too wild with her makeup choices. Bold or light – that’s all up to you!

As a fellow beauty junkie, you’re probably aware that this palette is part of Bare Escentuals’ much-anticipated plunge of creating solid eyeshadows that became available earlier this month. Available in duo or quad palettes, the shadows glide onto the lid with a silky, smooth application. Unlike other shadows that need to be reapplied during lunch hour, the colors maintained for hours. However, I do recommend a little primer to keep the colors in place if you don’t have time for a touch-up before heading to happy hour.

What I liked best about this shadow is that it provides the best of both worlds – it’s stored as a powder shadow in a compact but applies to the lid like a cream shadow. Its smooth application creates a hydrated lid opposed to powder shadows that make the skin a little dry. And no need to worry about Bare Minerals not staying true to its clean cosmetics mission; the shadows are produced without a trace of parabens, fillers, binder or synthetic chemicals.

I’m really picky when it comes to shadows. I’ve tried hundreds and yet seem to stick with my tried-and-true favorites. READY Eyeshadow? It may just be worthy enough of getting its own special place in my purse. The application is flawless and it’s perfect for on-the-go in its compact form, not to mention its soft two-sided shadow brush and mirror!

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals READY™ Eyeshadow 2.0 ($20) and 4.0 ($30) are available at Bare Escentuals boutiques,, and for purchase. Can’t get enough of the silky shadows? Check out other duos from the collection below – you won’t be disappointed!

The Vision

Sea foam doesn’t have to be reserved for the spring. Paired with this charcoal gray, it creates a pop of color between the typical reds and browns of autumn.

The Paradise Found

No need to purchase the trendy army jacket when you can blnd this military green shadow with a silky bronze.

The Honeymoon Phase

It doesn’t get any simpler than this – a deep gray and bubblegum pink for a sultry and yet playful smoky eye.

"The Vision" looks really cool too - I love the seafoam coupled with the grey.
