Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette Review

Urban Decay’s best selling Naked and Naked 2 have really given neutral a new meaning! And it doesn’t stop there… Urban Decay reinvented the Naked palettes into a smaller version called Naked Basics and it is just as great as it’s predecessors. This Naked Basics palette has all the colors you will need to travel with and the essentials for a natural eye look. It’s the perfect palette for when you’re going from a day look to a “night-on-the-town” look. You can find this palette at Ulta.com or at Sephora.com for only $27!

Okay, let’s break it down! Urban Decay never disappoints when it comes to color pigmentation. Their shadows also have a very soft texture, which allows me to easily grab the color on my brush. AND they have great staying power throughout the whole day (with help from an eyeshadow primer, of course).

Venus is a really light shimmery off white shadow. Swatched on my skin it gave a satin finish and it makes for a perfect highlighting color because it reflects the light perfectly. It is the only shadow in this palette with shimmer. Apply this color under the brow bone or in the inner corners of your eye and it will instantly brighten your look.

Foxy is a soft matte yellow beige color great alternative for the brow bone if you don’t prefer the shimmer of Venus.

W.O.S (Walk of Shame) is a pinky nude color. Perfect for the inner of the eye lid!

Naked 2 is a beautiful taupe color. This is probably my favorite shadow in the palette. I love using this color all over my lids as a base color. It’s the perfect natural color for my asian skin tone.

Faint is a matte brown color that is perfect for the crease, or it could be used on the outer corners of your eye for a natural smokey look.

Crave may look black at first glance, but when I look up close it is definitely a dark brown. This color is perfect for creating a dark smokey eye look when you’re going out on the town with your girlfriends!

Here are swatches on my arm so you can see the great color payoff!

Overall, my thoughts on Urban Decay’s Naked Basics Palette is that it’s a must-have for any girl! You will have a perfect little travel palette and it can go with you to work as well as on vacation. The colors are vibrant on my eyes and the price for this great palette is affordable at $27. For those who think the Naked palettes are a little pricey, this is a great alternative. Go to Sephora.com or Ulta.com to get yours!

Let me know in the comments what you gal’s thoughts are on this palette… I’d love to know!
