LORAC TANtalizer Highlighter & Matte Bronzer Duo

Lately, I’ve been noticing my skin can sometimes look a bit sallow or too cool for how sunny it usually is in Texas, so I’ve been trying to warm my face up a bit with makeup. Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer used to be my go-to product for contouring the hallows of my cheeks, but it was a bit too neutral for me to keep wearing these days. So when I was at Sephora a few weeks ago, I picked up this TANtalizer Highlighter and Matte Bronzer Duo compact from LORAC.

This compact has an extra large mirror – it’s actually the biggest compact that I have, and I love the shiny/reflective packaging so much – it’s one product I really like to pull out of my purse. Used with a big fluggy fan brush, I can contour and highlight my face very easily.

The bronzer is a slightly cinnamon-y warm brown with orange undertones, and is a bit dark on my skin when first applied, but if I just buff it out slightly before it sets, it ends up looking perfect. Applied gently, it gives me a warm wash of color that gives me great dimension without making me look like Snooki.

As for the highlighter; it’s a light pinky-peach. I’m actually still trying to figure out how best to highlight my cheek bones without threatening to blind anyone with my extra light-reflective cheeks, but this is a good highlighter for other areas, like the cupid’s bow of my lips. Another great use for both shades of this product is for eye makeup. I’ve actually been using the bronzer as eyeshadow and the highlighter for my brow bone, and it’s great for a natural look.

My feeling about this product is more or less luke-warm because while the bronzer is great, the highlighter is just so-so for me.

This is probably the reason I steer clear or duos as you usually find one of the products amazing and the other a little 'so so'. Becky Read Less
