Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup

Let me first just say that this is a ridiculously long-winded name for a foundation. I bought Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in 4.0 upon Anisha’s recommendation last week and have been taking a break from my Dermablend foundation to try it out. Ever since finding Dermablend, which seems to be the perfect foundation for my skin, I don’t take changing foundations very lightly. But Urban Decay’s Naked Skin foundation gave me such beautiful coverage, that I got compliments on it all day! I was very impressed. This shade seems to be a better match for my skin too, since I moved recently I’ve gotten tanner.

I love that this foundation gives me a solid medium coverage so it doesn’t look too heavy on me during the day, like Dermablend can sometimes look. However, one thing I did notice – which Anisha warned me about – was that it can oxidize a bit after a while, but only when using it in conjunction with a setting powder. The color warms up a bit and it becomes a bit crackled. A great thing about this liquid foundation is that I don’t need as much concealer under it. I only need a very thin layer or none at all. This could be because of the “light-diffusing spheres” in the product that are supposed to “blur” imperfections.

Naked Skin is oil and paraben-free. It also claims to be fragrance-free, but it actually smells like rubbing alcohol, which is a little annoying at first but goes away after a few minutes. Urban Decay offers a pretty wide variety of shades for women of color. Shade 4.0, which is a medium-light with golden-olive undertones, looks great with my skin, and Anisha seems very happy with 8.0. In the pictures above, the swatch might look light with the skin on my hand but my hands are actually darker than my face. As you can see with my headshot, the shade is a pretttyyy close match, if not perfect. It has just the right amount of gold undertone. One problem I have with other foundations is that it can look too pink for me.

Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup is available on Sephora for $38, which is certainly more pricey than most drugstore brands but very reasonable for the high-end brand that Urban Decay has come to be known as.

The foundation looks really nice. Not sure if I like that it has a strong alcohol scent. Thank you for a thorough review.
