Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick: Acapulco

Recently I went to the mall with my sister, mostly to bring my nephew to the little play area so he could run around, and I just stopped into Sephora to just try on a few things. One of those things was the Big & Healthy™ Lip Stick in Acapulco, from Buxom – a brand I had never tried before. I even posted a bit of a teaser on my instagram. After wearing it for the rest of the night and noticing it never faded away or feathered, I was definitely committed to this purchase, so I went back a few days later and picked one up. Since starting myCosmeticBag, I think the most major change in my makeup collection has been lip color. I never actually used to stray from nude or just clear gloss, but for the last year I’ve been sporting bolder colors. I really love wearing a bold lip with a simple cat-eye, as it’s not only a classic look, but it also cuts down my getting-ready time by half. Amazing, right? I fell in love with Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick: Acapulco because it was a great a color, but not too bold for day-wear.

Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick is a three-in-one lip product that you can use as a liner as well as a lipstick, and then it also acts as a lip plumper. On top of that, it comes with a built-in sharpener. Talk about multi-functional! I love the fact that I don’t need to use an additional product to line my lips, because that’s one of the things I hate most about doing my lips at all – having to potentially buy two products! I did feel that the product made my lips tingle and feel minty, the same way that Blistex does, but I’m not sure if I really saw that my lips looked plumper or not.

Acapulco is described by Buxom as a “rich lilac” but I consider it to be more on the dusty side, which is one of the things I love about it – again, because I can easily wear it during the day and not feel like I’m about to walk down the runway with it.

I was able to wear Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Acapulco for about four hours before I had to reapply, and I had actually been drinking coffee, so this product is incredibly long lasting, as far as I’m concerned. The thing that was most impressive was that it’s not as waxy or heavy as regular lipsticks – aside from the initial tingling feeling, you barely notice you’re wearing it. That’s a HUGE win for me.

Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick is available on Sephora for $19, which I think is a reasonable price. I would love to get more shades soon, and I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an all-in-one lip product.
