Tutorial: Easter Egg Inspired Polka-Dot Nails

Happy Easter! While preparing Easter eggs for my family’s upcoming annual Easter egg hunt, I was inspired by some of the polka dot Easter eggs and the lovely array of pastel colors.

What you’ll need:

  1. Sinful Colors – Hazard
  2. SK 4F Kolinsky Sable nail brush
  3. Ginza Nail Dotting Tool No.2
  4. Any white nail polish
  5. Acetone or nail polish remover

Step 1

Prep nails and apply base coat as you normally would.

Step 2

Apply two coats of Sinful Color’s Hazard to your nails leaving your moon area empty.

Step 3

Pour a small amount of acetone or nail polish remover into a container. Dip your nail brush into the acetone and remove polish at the cuticle in a small circular motion.

Step 4

Pour a small amount of white polish into a piece of paper.  Using your dotting tool, apply dots to the nail in a diagonal pattern. You can also use the end of a makeup brush to do this if you don’t have a dotting tool.

Step 5 (Optional)

Apply a sheer pink polish to the cuticle area to give the nail a more finished look.

Step 6

Finish off your nails by applying your favorite top coat.
