My Daily Makeup Routine

Hope everyone is relaxing and having fun this weekend! I’m here to share my daily makeup routine with you ladies for Summer 2013! Let me just say that I’m not a makeup expert, but I love to play around with different products. I think I have combination of dry and oily skin. I’m not an expert and I haven’t seen a dermatologist to be professionally checked for what skin type I am. These are just my own thoughts. My favorite product to use for the summer is bronzer (I also mention in The Bronzed Edition posts) and the product I cannot live without is eyeliner!

Set 1

1. Moisturizer with SPF

I use IMAGE Skincare Hydrating Moisturizer with SPF 30! Gotta have that SPF in my moisturizer to protect my skin from the sun’s UV rays! I apply this all over my face. And this has a very sheer texture so it doesn’t seem like I’m wearing anything on my face.

2. Tinted Moisturizer

I then apply Neutrogena’s Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. I use this versus a liquid foundation because it’s not as heavy. You might say this step is redundant because I applied moisturizer already, but on those days when I want a little more coverage to certain areas of my face I like to add this step. I mainly use this to the areas where have acne scars or tend to be dry.

3. Concealer

I then go in with my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. Pretty self explanatory…I apply under my eyes to cover my dark circles.

4. Setting Powder

I then set my face with GloMinerals Pressed Powder. I’m in the shade Honey Light. I love that it mattifies my face for a flawless look! And it helps the oils stay at bay throughout the day.

5. Blush

This was originally a bronzer, but I love using Benefit’s Bronzer in Dallas as a blush because of it’s rosy color! See my review of this product in the Bronzed Edition post!

6. Bronzer

Next I contour with a bronzer. And the one I have been using a lot lately is Too Faced Sun Bunny Bronzer. I love how bronzer creates more dimension to my face and gives life to my cheeks. I also did feature this product in the Bronzed Edition.

7. Eye Shadow Base

I use NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black as a base. I apply it like an eyeliner and then I spread it on my eyes with my fingers. I create a gradient look because it preps my eyes for the next step: eye shadow.

8. Eye Shadow

I then go on top of the base with shadows from these two palettes by Urban Decay. On the left is the Naked Basics (See my review of this palette here) and on the right is the Vegan Palette. I love using the browns and dark browns from these two. I start off applying a dark brown shade closer to my lash line and brush it up towards my crease and then with a taupe or sparkly brown I blend the color into the crease for that gradient effect.

9. Mascara

Since I have very sparse eyelashes I love using Maybelline’s Mega Plus Mascara on my bottom lashes. When I feel like applying false lashes I go in with this mascara as well to make sure my real lashes blend in with the false ones.

10. Eyeliner

The most important step in my makeup regimen is my eyeliner! I love any waterproof liquid liner and right now I am on a Milani Eye Tech kick! My previous eyeliner that I loved was Urban Decay’s 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner. This liner is easy to apply and stays on ALL DAY! I always do a winged out eye liner look because it makes my Asian eyes just a little bigger.

11. Brows

The last step is filling my brows in. I just use NYX’s single eyeshadow in black and with an angled eye brow brush I fill in the ends of my brows lightly. Since this is black I don’t want to overdo it or I will end up with really dark eyebrows. That’s not a good look on me.

And that’s it! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
