POTW: Abba Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner

I have to write a quick post about my all-time favorite shampoo and conditioner from Abba. I was first introduced to this brand by a hair stylist in Houston, and since then, my hair has been thicker, healthier, and way easier to manage. But while I had some great results with my own hair, the real reason I love this shampoo and conditioner is how much it helped save my mom’s hair.

My 63 year old mother usually buys whatever brand of shampoo and conditioner she can find at Costco, and while I’m all for saving money and buying in bulk, I always wished she would take better care of her hair and learn when it’s appropriate to be frugal and when it’s appropriate to splurge. She has been dealing with a constant onslaught of health problems since before I was born – everything from diabetes, high blood pressure, strokes, and cancer. As a result of this, her hair definitely took a beating, and with every passing year she seemed to have less and less on her head. Last year it got to the point where you could clearly see her scalp. Finally, I bought my mom two 33.8 oz bottles of Abba Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner, and after a week of using it, you could see a visible difference in the thickness of her hair. Now, you can no longer see any bald spots!

I don’t have any pics that really show how thick, shiny, and fluffy my hair has been since using these products, but you can sort of see it in the below pic from my Instagram. I have been curling my hair a lot lately so it’s definitely important to me to have a conditioner that will protect my hair from heat damage, as well as keep my color looking fresh.

Abba Color Protection Shampoo has a pleasant coconut scent that I love. I use it three to four times a week (sometimes two, if I can manage it) and it comes out easily and doesn’t leave any gunkiness in my hair. The conditioner also has somewhat of a coconut scent, but there’s something else (sage?) that makes it not as pleasant-smelling as the shampoo – a small price to pay for great hair.

Oops! I just gave away my samples of Abba, because I don't have color-treated hair. Guess I should have tried it anyway!
