Sephora Pro Brushes – Photos and Review

I am really excited to write about these amazing brushes that I was lucky enough to receive in my TMS NY swag bag last weekend, straight from Sephora’s new Pro collection. These brushes are, hands down, some of the best I’ve ever used – and that is pretty high praise because I’m not afraid to splurge on some high quality brushes. I think if there’s anywhere you should invest your money into when it comes to makeup, it’s getting yourself some quality brushes that will last you a life-time. Thankfully, Sephora has come out with a line of brushes targeted at professional makeup artists that are affordable enough for the day-to-day consumer.

Brushes from the Sephora Pro Collection are all hand-made by artisans – I watched a video loop at The Makeup Show that they had playing at the Sephora booth, and these brushes are literally hand-made with synthetic and natural hairs, from beginning to end with love and care. The wooden handles are dipped in black lacquer nine times for a glossy finish, and the lettering is etched so that it will never fade or rub off.

Above is a picture of one of the brushes with the cap still on it, to protect the brush from wear and tear – I can’t tell you how many of my brushes get damaged just from being in my bag for too long, so I am really thankful for these caps. I do have to say that when I originally started opening up these brushes, they had plastic vacuum-sealed around each of the caps and it took me SO long to peel them off. I had the liberty of talking with Marisa Hamilton, Sephora Collection Education Manager, and she told me that they purposely over-did the vacuum-sealing so that customers could not tamper with the new products in-store. I think that’s fantastic, even though I did give myself a boo-boo peeling open one of my brushes. Sometimes, I go into Sephora and the displays are an absolute mess because customers go in there and just open all the new products to test.

Sephora Pro Flawless Airbrush #56

Flawless Airbrush #56 is made with short synthetic hairs that are densely packaged to give you a flawless finish when applying foundations of all types. You can use this brush with liquid, creme, or powder foundations – I love a brush that has multiple purposes, especially when I am traveling. Some days I wear only a sheer layer of foundation, and other days I apply my foundation very heavy-handedly, and this brush is great for building coverage. This has become my favorite foundation brush in my collection – it really makes all the difference!

This expert brush applies all types of foundation and provides a natural, airbrushed finish. Buff on your favorite foundation or powder with this brush designed to provide greater precision and maximum control. The brush head is densely packed with short, synthetic bristles, ideal for building coverage in layers until you’ve reached your desired finish.

Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57

For someone with chronic acne, like me, a good concealer brush is a must-have. I love fluffy domed brushes like these, because it helps to build coverage where I need to conceal my  problem areas and then feather it out around the edges so that it blends in with the rest of my makeup. Like the Flawless Airbrush #56, this brush is made with short synthetic hairs.

Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57 Affiliate

A concealer brush that applies correcting formulas with a flawless, airbrushed look. Discover the secret to the smoothest finish possible with this unique round brush that precisely conceals dark circles, redness, and all other imperfections in one gesture. The short, synthetic bristles allow you to buff and blend from light to heavy, and achieve perfect, even coverage across your face.

Sephora Pro Crease Brush #10

This tapered brush blends eyeshadow beautifully into the crease of your eye, and is made with a mix of natural pony and goat bristles. I personally feel that you can never have enough crease/blending brushes in your collection, and this is a great addition to yours whether you already have a crease brush or not. This brush feels very soft to the skin, which is great because my crease area tends to be a bit tender. It picks up color easily, and I experience very minimal fall-out.

Sephora Pro Crease Brush #10 Affiliate

A brush that precisely applies and blends shadow into the creases to add depth. Make your eyes pop with this brush specially designed to add dramatic definition. Use the tapered tip along the crease of the eye to softly blend shadow and make eyes appear larger. The soft fibers form a medium, dome shape and promise supple, smooth application.

Sephora Pro Angled Shadow Brush #13

This is another great brush for your crease and outer corner of your eyes. It’s super dense and soft, which makes for a gorgeous even finish. I’d say this is a great brush for all-over eyeshadow application too, if you hold it correctly.

Sephora Pro Angled Shadow Brush #13 Affiliate

An angled shadow brush that easily adds color to every contour. Accurately sweep color over your lids with this expert shadow brush. The angled tip is shaped to work on the brow bone, over the lid, and under the orbital bone. The natural bristles beautifully blend all pressed or loose powders, and the soft fibers ensure a gorgeous, even finish.

Sephora Pro Smoky Liner Brush #24

This brush is designed to be used to smoke out your liner, which it’s great for, but I also use it for precision eyeshadow application. It has a super pointy tip and is made from synthetic bristles. I love using it to apply eyeshadow to my bottom lash line. Even those the bristles are pretty soft, I think the tip is so pointy that it does sort of hurt around my sensitive eye area.

Sephora Pro Smoky Liner Brush Affiliate

A liner brush created for outlining the eye with liquid or cream formulas. Create a smoldering smoky eye effect with just one sweep of this specially designed liner brush. The pointed tip with longer, synthetic bristles in the center of the brush make this tool ideal for applying and smudging liquid and cream-based products.
