I am a huge fan of hot pink and fuchsia lippies because they tend to be very flattering on me, and my new favorite is Ellis Faas Hot Lips L404, which is a bright neon pink that’s the perfect shade for the spring/summer.
My good guy friend actually picked this out for me at The Makeup Show LA’s Ellis Faas booth. He came to LA for the weekend and went with me to the show because I told him there would be models there. I asked him to keep my credit card away from me but he totally failed, and I ended up buying way too much makeup that day.
Hot Lips is Ellis Faas’ newest line of super-pigmented lipsticks in their classic pen design. It has a sponge applicator, and the product comes out by twisting the bottom of the pen. You have to be careful with this one because it is so pigmented, only one twist (or none at all!) is needed per use. Even though Hot Lips does come on wet, it is a non-sticky and non-greasy formula that is very interesting. If you have some product left on the sponge, you don’t need to twist the bottom to add more, and it will actually come on sort of dry… like a highlighter. It feels perfectly matte on the lips.
L404 is an amazing neon pink that really grabs peoples attention, and only one coat is needed to get a perfectly opaque finish. The one bad thing I can say about this particular product is that it does tend to feather when worn alone, so I would suggest using a liner to keep it from doing that.
