Are you heading out for a special occasion soon and want a fresh new makeup look for the new year? Night time makeup doesn’t have to be dark to make an impact. Earth tones, jewel tones, and neutrals can be just as sexy.
Here is an easy way to jazz up the classic cat eye look.
- After priming my eyelid with Stila Perfect and Perfect Foundation, I swept MAC Ricepaper from my lash line to brow.
- I applied MAC Gleam from lashline to crease. Over Gleam, I applied Stila Jewel Eye Shadow in Golden Topaz with a damp brush. ( Read my review here )
- Then, I used Stila Go Lightly in the crease and blended it well with a crease brush and then diffused it even more with my fingers.
- I lined my top lash line with Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black. I intentionally did not line my bottom lash line to keep all the drama in one area.
- I swiped a couple of coats of Lancome Hypnose Mascara in black on my lashes, and paid special attention to my bottom lashes.
- I filled in my brows with Anastasia Brow Powder in Golden Blonde.
- I cleaned up any shimmer fallout from the Jewel Shadow with moisturizer then moved on to foundation…Stila Perfect & Correct Foundation in Medium.
- I concealed under my eyes with MAC Select Coverup in NW 30 and used Stila Brighten & Correct Concealer in Tone as a Highlight.
Not pictured above, I also finished my look by applying foundation, blush, and gloss:
- I applied MAC Mineralize Powder in Medium with a big fluffy powder brush in a circular motion to set.
- I used Stila Custom Color Blush in Self-Adjusting Coral to add a little color to my cheeks.
- I finished the look with a sheer coat of Stila Silk Shimmer Gloss Kitten in Kitten.
This look is polished and fun without being overdone. It’s updated yet classic. What do you think?
